"May no neighbour go hungry"
The Argyle Food Circle is a grassroots community initiative serving London's Argyle neighborhood, dedicated to reducing food waste while supporting neighbors in need.
Founded by a dedicated group of community members including Mac Ross, Sarah, Lalith, and other volunteers, our mission began with a simple idea: keep day-old food out of the garbage and into the stomachs of Londoners in need. What started as weekly Facebook posts has grown into a coordinated effort that delivers fresh bread, baked goods, and vegetables directly to the doors of community members.
When Mac moved to Nova Scotia, he passed the leadership torch to Sarah and Lalith, our founding volunteers who continue the weekly deliveries with the same dedication and community spirit.
Every Saturday, we collect requests from community members. Sarah reviews and approves requests, prioritizing Argyle neighborhood residents. On Sundays, Sarah and Lalith deliver food bags directly to approved households - no questions asked, no paperwork required.
In March 2025, CBC London featured our work, highlighting how one simple Facebook post can change many people's lives. While the coverage focused on Mac's role during his time leading the initiative, the Argyle Food Circle has always been a community effort driven by multiple dedicated volunteers working together to serve our neighbors.
Lynn's Bakery has been our most consistent supporter since day one, providing fresh baked goods every single week. Their commitment to reducing waste while feeding our community exemplifies the spirit of local business responsibility.
